Scientists Develop Technology for Tracking Website Fraud

Researchers at the University of Arizona say they have developed a prototype system that can detect fake sites based on online fraud that already exists.

The system they developed is more accurate in tracking down fraudulent websites than similar systems that already exist.

Scientists also say that the detection of fake sites is very important, because the majority of users are still not able to detect internet security which ultimately results in great losses.

University of Arizona research team successfully classifies online fraud based on several characteristics such as length of URLs, number of links, literary type, and others. "The problems we face today is quite large.

Phony sites harm the industry billions of dollars. This is what we must prevent, "said Abbasi, a member of the research team.

Worlds Fastest Computer

On the dawn of 25 May 2008, IBM unveiled their gentle giant- the ‘roadrunner’. Do not mistake it with the cute little cartoon character that your children enjoy watching on TV, the roadrunner is actually the worlds fastest computer at present, and it is capable of processing 1.7 petaflops. On May 25th, the computer had achieved 1.06 petaflops, making it the worlds fastest computer. This lean and hungry machine is not a child’s toy and it is priced at an eye-popping amount of $133 million.

Built by IBM at the Los Alamos Laboratory in New Mexico, this is truly a one of its kind supercomputer, primarily because of the fact that this machine is built mostly on commodity parts, available off the shelf at any hardware store. The worlds fastest computer boasts of some great design techniques, which have made it one of the marvels of modern engineering and computer architecture.

Built for the National nuclear security administration department, this computer has 12,960 IBM powerXcell 8i CPUs in conglomeration with 6,480 AMD opteron microprocessor systems. These systems are connected via a new technique of CPU-Processor connection, known as the infiniband, using blade server architecture. Running on Fedora and Red hat enterprise editions, the worlds fastest computer is as easy to work with as any other computing device. Designed to predict the vulnerability and the safety of America’s ageing nuclear weapons, the worlds fastest computer computes the reaction of nuclear components and ingredients as time progresses. The roadrunner is a massive machine, and occupies almost 550 square meters of space.

The main area where the worlds fasts computer differs from a lot of other super computers is the fact that it uses a combination of two architectures wherein each AMD 64 opteron processor is combined in a hybrid architecture with a ‘cell’, manufactured by IBM using its patented ‘power architecture’ technology.

The building process of the roadrunner was divided into three broad phases. The first phase was concerned with the development of a cluster, on a smaller scale, of the AMD 64- Cell combination and to check its feasibility on a larger scale. The second phase was primarily concerned with building a prototype using the clusters developed in the first phase. The third phase was dedicated to reach a peak performance, which was aimed to be measured in petaflops. Additional clusters, architectural enhancements and some additional powerXcell systems were arranged in order to breach the petaflops limit. Thus the worlds fastest computer was born on May 25th, 2008.

Containing two different kinds of processors, one being for calculations and the other for performing normal computer functions (such as bootstrapping, process scheduling and memory management), the worlds fastest computer is an architectural marvel. The two cores of computations in the worlds fastest computer are the AMD opteron and the IBM powerXcell. While the Opteron runs at 1.8 GHz, the PowerXcell runs at 3.2 GHz. The roadrunner utilizes a total of 122,400 cores, with roughly 6,000 coming from the Opteron and the rest coming from the PowerXcell. The computational unit of the roadrunner is the ‘triblade’, which consists of two dual core opterons with 16 GB of RAM and four powerXcells, containing their own additional 16 GB of RAM. The complete CU or the computational unit is the main unit of computation in the roadrunner and consists of 180 such triblades, with each of these triblades connected to a 288 port Voltaire infiband switch. The Panasas file system is implemented through twelve system servers. Each triblade, therefore, has to pass though one of these servers to access the Panasas files system.

The overall structure which emerges out as the complete roadrunner model consists of eighteen CUs, or connected units, which are connected through a second infiniband switch. The whole architecture is a mammoth structure and is testimony to the huge computing potential of the worlds fastest computer, setting it far apart from the rest of the competition.

Bill Gates sells 5m shares in Microsoft

Software giant's founder has sold 90m shares in 12 months, but still has 500m; cash goes to help his foundation's charitable work

Bill Gates has sold another 5 million of his Microsoft shares, according to a regulatory filing.

Microsoft's multi-billionaire founder has been selling shares in recent months. He is the company's non-executive chairman, having stepped back from running the software firm in 2008 to concentrate on his charity work.

According to the filing, Gates sold 5m shares in Microsoft at an average $27.59 each on July 27. He has sold more than 90m Microsoft shares in the past 12 months.

Gates still has more than 500m shares in the company, but has decreased his shareholding over the last two years to fund his charitable endeavours and to diversify his portfolio.

This week the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation said it was making $42m available for eight universities to develop a toilet that does not need a sewer connection, water or electricity to operate. The ain is to improve people's health in parts of the world where there are few if any flushable toilets.

He is also backing research into improving education. "Every student needs a meaningful credential beyond high school," Gates said in a speech last week. "Higher education is crucial for jobs," he said, calling education an equaliser in society and the answer to getting urban America back to work and fighting poverty.

Forbes magazine estimates Gates's fortune at $56bn. Once the world's richest man, he is now second to Mexican telecoms mogul Carlos Slim after giving away a large chunk of his fortune to his charity.

Gates and long-time friend Warren Buffett have pledged to give away the majority of their fortunes to charity before their deaths, and have convinced a host of other billionaires, including Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg, to follow suit.

NASA probe poised for launch to Jupiter

(Reuters) - A NASA satellite was hoisted aboard an unmanned Atlas 5 rocket at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station Wednesday in preparation for launch next week on an unprecedented mission to the heart of Jupiter.

The robotic probe called Juno is scheduled to spend one year cycling inside Jupiter's deadly radiation belts, far closer than any previous orbiting spacecraft, to learn how much water the giant planet holds, what triggers its vast magnetic fields and whether a solid core lies beneath its dense, hot atmosphere.

"Jupiter holds a lot of key secrets about how we formed," said lead scientist Scott Bolton, with the Southwest Research Institute in San Antonio, Texas.

Scientists believe Jupiter was the first planet to form after the birth of the sun, though exactly how that happened is unknown. One key piece of missing data is how much water is inside the giant planet, which circles the sun five times farther away than Earth.

Jupiter, like the sun, is comprised primarily of hydrogen and helium, with a sprinkling of other elements, like oxygen. Scientists believe the oxygen is bound with hydrogen to form water, which can be measured by microwave sounders, one of eight science instruments on Juno.

Jupiter's water content is directly tied to where -- and how -- the planet formed. Some evidence points to a planet that grew in the colder nether-regions of the solar system and then migrated inward. Other computer models show Jupiter formed at about its present location by accumulating ancient icy snowballs.

LARGER THAN SISTER PLANETS

However it grew, Jupiter ended up with a mass more than twice all its sister planets combined, giving it the gravitational muscle to hang on to nearly all of its original building materials.

"That's why it's very interesting to us if we want to go back in time and understand where we came from and how the planets were made" -- which Juno can help NASA do, Bolton said.

Juno's journey to Jupiter will take five years. Upon arrival in July 2016, Juno will thread itself into a narrow region between the planet and the inner edge of its radiation belt. The solar-powered probe will then spend a year orbiting over Jupiter's poles, coming as close as 3,100 miles above its cloud tops.

Only an atmospheric probe released by Galileo, NASA's last Jupiter spacecraft, has come closer, though that spacecraft was able to relay data for only 58 minutes before succumbing to the planet's crushing pressure and intense heat.

Juno's electronic heart is protected in a vault of titanium, but it too will fall to the harsh Jovian radiation environment after about a year. Juno's last move will be to dive into the planet's atmosphere to avoid any chance of contaminating Jupiter's potentially life-bearing moons.

Juno's launch is scheduled for August 5. The spacecraft was built by Lockheed Martin Astronautics of Denver, Colorado. The mission, the second in NASA's lower-cost, quick-turnaround New Frontiers planetary expeditions, will cost $1.1 billion.

Google's Android Not Owned?

Android was originally or formerly owned by Google is not really.
Google's acquisition of Android.

The range of 2005, Google bought Android, Inc., a small company that just had to grow based in Palo Alto, California.
Some people go there once worked at Google, such as Rich Miner, co-founder Wilfire Communications, then there is Andy Rubin, founder of Danger [enterprise software services], Chris White, an engineer on the Web TV and Nick Sears, a former VP at T-Mobile.
Rubin and his colleagues began developing the Linux-based operating system for mobile phones and other mobile devices.

Their main target is to handset developers and operators.
According to Google the information, move the acquisition is a brilliant idea.
Throughout the history of Google, it is the right step and the most profitable companies.
Indirectly Android Andy Rubin as co-inventor and becoming part of the history of Google's products, as well as have responsibility for the continuity of the open source operating system.
Together with his team, Rubin was able to demonstrate that they can make Android be the center of attention at the time.

Andy Rubin

At first David Lawee who served as vice president of corporate development, was hesitant with his decision.
Because for two years after the acquisition, Rubin has not produced a commensurate payoff for Google.
Finally, Lawee have raised two thumbs up for Rubin with the advent of smart phones that rely on Android operating system as the basis in the not long after.
As we think they are also successful with the business.

Moreover, Android is a system that is easy to operate, is quite flexible and upgradeable.
Time passed, and the right moment for the world to witness the entry of Google's mobile phone to the market, as it will appear soon followed by rumors of new handsets branded Google.
Android handset that we encounter today.

Inside Ins USA Air Force One

Actually, Air Force One is not a brand or type of aircraft. But Air Force One is a code name for the plane owned by U.S. Air Force (U.S. Air Force), which climbed by the President of the United States.
So all that such US-owned aircraft in an emergency ride to the president, then his name to "Air Force One". Code name serves to distinguish between aircraft that are being ridden with the American President who did not.

Likewise, when the American president to travel by land, known by the code name "Army One". Meanwhile while riding a helicopter (owned by U.S. Marine), then the code name is "Marine One".

Even so, the U.S. government still has a president and a special vehicle for each vehicle that has a code name. The vehicles are routinely used and later President of the American community known as Marine One (helicopter), Army One (armored vehicle), and Air Force One (the aircraft).

Its Origin And the ins and outs of Air Force One

The U.S. government began to think a presidential plane when the time of President Theodore Roosevelt in the 1910s. At that time, the duties of the President of the United States is getting more and need a special aircraft to support its performance.

Now, aboard Air Force One there are two pieces, all made by Boeing. Kind is the 740-200 jumbo jet engine with the serial number VC-25A. Two planes are almost identical, both color and shape. The difference lies in the number on the tail, namely 28 000 and 29 000.

Each plane has four jet engines CF6-80C2B1 electrically. Speed limit is between 630 and 700 miles per hour with a maximum flying height is 45,100 feet. Air Force One carrying 53,611 gallons of fuel and capable of around half the world without refueling in flight once.

If the White House President to work in the Oval Office, then in the Air Force One, the presidential compound called the Presidential Suite located on the front of the plane. In the area of 'belonging' president are available bedrooms, bathroom and lounge. Like an office, the president's senior staff was also given their own workspace. In addition it is also available with a fairly large conference room to discuss important matters.

In flight procedures they also have strict standards. Before Air Force One flying, thorough preparation done on this plane. All devices checked the plane, reportedly even the crew that was already selected, will be lodged for days at Andrew Air Force Base before the day of departure.

A few days before Air Force One landed at a destination, the U.S. Air Force first send a C141 Star lifter cargo plane. This aircraft contains van for the guards, presidential car, weapons and equipment. While in the air too, Air Force One will be escorted by at least two fighter planes.

To maintain security, ahead of the landing of Air Force One, the entire flight in the landing site will be clean. Nothing else should a plane landed before Air Force One landed smoothly.

Sometimes the flight line clearance takes at least half an hour or more. Since the troublesome procedures of Air Force One flight, no wonder these rare aircraft landed at a commercial airport, but at the air base.

Inside the aircraft, the President and his staff are in room 4000 square foot room that consists of three floors, including room suite for the office of President of a large, tub, and meeting rooms. Air Force One has a medical room suite that can serve as an operating room, and doctors permanently. The aircraft is also capable of preparing food for 100 people at once

In addition to the presidential plane, Air Force One could also function as a bunker fly. Until now nobody U.S. officials know the exact details of the parts inside. The aircraft is able to withstand the brunt of the missile attacks and nuclear electromagnetic pulses.

Thus, Air Force One is no longer just a presidential executive jet aircraft. This aircraft has increased the status of a bunker move that always suspect that any place that will stop off at a place that was safe and highly vulnerable to attack.

For that reason do not be surprised if the convoy planes, helicopters, transport vehicles and the U.S. President has also been arranged so that each potential murderer - including the journalists who chase fooled. Air Force One, for example, not allowed to visit a country alone. He is always accompanied by another aircraft that has a similar shape.

Apparently Google Brain Blunt. Why?

The results of recent studies have revealed a surprising fact. The more often a person using Google, the more 'blunt' brain person. Why?

The study results are published in research journal Science stated, Google is making people more stupid. This conclusion is based on the results of the study 'Google’s Effects on Memory: Cognitive consequences of Having Information at Our Fingertips’ Betsy Sparrow carried from the Columbian University that examines when and how transitive memory access.

As is known, a few popular sites are the diggers of data (a search engine like Google or Yahoo) or data storage (such as Wikipedia or IMBD). At these sites, the amount of data generated each year increased exponentially.

That is, no one else can know everything about something like an ancient era. Able to export knowledge and remember it whenever, you are able to release more brain power to do important things, including thinking and creativity, which requires more than just the storage capacity.

Furthermore, too often use sites like Google will make the untrained brain and make the ability to slow down.

Google Plus Competitor Facebook

Google launched a social media service called Google+ (Google Plus) that supposedly would bulldoze the popularity of Facebook. then what makes a great impression of this service? There are at least four features of Google Plus service.

1. Circles. Services that serves to put the names of friends into groups and users can share content with different formats in this circle of friends.

2. Hangouts. If Facebook is still relying on the conventional style chat with messenger-style, then make your hangouts and friends can use the video call.

3. Huddle. This service provides the groups in this network to send instant messages are not much different from other social media services.

4. Sparks. Service is able to relate to people on the network to the people who have the same interests against something.

With four services on top, it looks like google has figured out how the latest in the world of social media services.

What is certain is the launch of Google+ reap a lot of speculation. Those who are not satisfied with facebook relieved. The skeptical, as always advised to wait and see. However, experts agree social media Google+ presence is a threat dire enough to facebook

Blackberry / RIM is In Danger of Collapse?

Many conditions that cause RIM's arguably in a state of dying.
So there are three companies that are dying NOKIA, YAHOO, Blackberry / RIM
this is the seventh sign of the bankruptcy or the RIM BlackBerry familiar with it:

1. the lack of new innovations

there are only two series of new BlackBerry that will be issued in the near future, the bold series Touch 9900 and 9930.
Indeed there are some feature enhancements such as the BlackBerry OS 7.0, touch screen and 1.2 GHz processor.
Improved features in was regarded not as an innovation because it does not create a new thing, but to maximize the things that already exist.

2. Boring designs.

Since the emergence of modern BlackBerry series in 2006, its design does not differ greatly from those present if there are other designs such as the touch screen [series Strom], candy bar [Pearl series] and clamshell [series Style] can not be compared with competitors growing Smartphone design simple and looks elegant.

3. Limited number of applications.

BlackBerry App World, introduced in 2009 but until now the application is available only as many as 26,000.
Compared with competitors who already has 200,000 Android and Apple's applications as much as 350,000 applications continue to grow every day.
Limitations of the application also caused less despise the developers to create applications because they feel a lot of convoluted rules that an application be approved and entered into the BlackBerry App World.

4. Applications Expensive.

It's a bit much to pay, that's too expensive picture of the applications available on BlackBerry App World.
Imagine the game Angry Farm for BlackBerry is available at a price of $ 4.99 compared with Angry Birds [ad-free] for IOS and Android with prices $ 0.99 only.

5. Dualism of leadership.

RIM led the two men co CEO Mike Lazaridis and Jim Balsillie.
Leadership 2 people in a large company become the important thing obviously related to the decisions related to the company's future.
Even sites www.joyoftech.com create comic strips that tell about the humor the two CEOs who are taking the decision to release a BlackBerry again.

6. Weakness on the BlackBerry Playbook.

RIM enliven the tablet market with the release Playbook to compete with the iPad and tablets Android.
But the problem is there are major drawbacks like not support email features and advantages of fuel is a BlackBerry.
If this feature is not famous there, how to compete with Android and iPad tablet far away is experienced and in search of many people.
Besides the launch of the latest series Playbook 4G also experienced delays.
This caused the number of operators [overseas] are reluctant to work together to market the Playbook 4G.
RIM preach the delay will last until August.

7. Profits fall of the Company.

In June 2011 RIM announces first quarter 2011 profit forecast.
They explain income fell for the first time in nine years, and they plan to reduce the number of employees.
Although the initial launch BlackBerry Playbook capable sold as many as 500,000 pieces, but the proceeds have not been able to raise the company's overall revenue.
Time is running if the value of RIM's stock continues to drop to single digits [under $ 10] said the bankruptcy would ringing in the minds of Mike Lazaridis in recent years [or month] back.
Purchases by investors [the company] could be a solution if you do not want a BlackBerry [in this RIM] is lost in the bare earth.

So there are three companies that are dying NOKIA, YAHOO, Blackberry / RIM
And again on the rise who? ANDROID course, with its Android mobile phone

Kiss Someone Online: Cyber Mouth for Cyber Smooching

Ah, Japan. Land of manga and animé. A land where a culture going back centuries coexists with modern technology. A land which does not possess the traditional hangup of Western culture, the hangup of science (and technology) against religion (and humanity). A land which has produced such technological wonders as the anthropomorphic Asimo robot and the Aibo robotic pet dog. And now – cyber kissing?

These days, you can even call this kissing.
Well – yes.
The Kajimoto Research Laboratory at the University of Electro-Communications in Tokyo aims to create a device which can transmit the virtual feeling of a kiss to a user over the Internet. The procedure is to have the device, which looks something like a manual pencil sharpener with a pencil stuck into it, hooked up to the PCs of a sender and a recipient. The sender’s machine translates the sender’s actions into movements which the recipient can feel as a kiss from the sender.
At the moment, the device is limited to a lever (the “pencil”) which can be moved by the tongue and which, through electrical signals which feed to the motors of a recipient device, will recreate the movement from the sending device. The ultimate goal would be to recreate such other sensory information as taste, tongue moistness and the manner of breathing of both sender and recipient.

Kiss my cyber smooching device!
Given that the repeatability of the experience can be recorded in a computer to create a virtual kiss, this could lead to marketing opportunities for such public figures as celebrities, but there could be other possible applications. Children with a condition where facial muscles don’t properly develop could benefit from it. A speech pathologist, for example, could make the machine part of his tool kit where rehabilitating and strengthening the tongue is concerned.
The device could also help doctors remotely diagnose a patient’s possible problem given the readings it gets on the strength of the tongue muscle when a remote patient is asked to work on the device.

Given that this device is a work in progress – well, I’d rather stick to the real thing for now, thank you.

Mars Explorers Spirit

The Spirit of John Wesley Powell should be happy – the famous one-armed regiment of geologists arrived. The Spirit of John Wesley Powell should be happy – the famous one-armed regiment of geologists arrived. More than a hundred years have passed since Powell led an expedition in three boats past the Grand Canyon. While the other planets were just a blur in the lenses of telescopes, and about space travel, few even dreamed of.

Powell lost his right arm in the Civil War, and he would have understood perfectly what work was done by two “one-armed” NASA’s Mars rover and control them from Earth scientists. In January 2004, Spirit and Opportunity landed on Mars – so began the search for traces of water, probably once existed on this planet.

In the days of Powell’s geologists interested in how the water source pink rocks of the Colorado Plateau, created in him a maze of canyons. These days, experts are studying its role in shaping the landscape of the Red Planet. In 1869, a motley company led by Powell against all odds managed to survive in an almost-hundred-day journey through deadly rapids. Like these brave, the rovers continue to function normally much longer than their designated 90 days. Field geologist Powell, his only hand split the stones and took notes, and rovers with trehsustavnogo manipulator controlled with a camera and a special cutter needed for sampling rocks.

Field research – here’s the main thing that brings the rovers and the old Powell. To geologists, a term he says about the discoveries made after the hard work when you yourself collect samples for compromise rocks and extracts minerals from the earth’s surface.

Field studies give scientists the opportunity to speak with confidence about the geological structure of landscapes, which previously they could only see from afar. Studying the structure of the Grand Canyon, visiting the colorful layers of limestone, sandstone, marble, slate, volcanic rocks and gneiss, Powell climbed the cliffs at kilometer altitude. When he prevailed over the rise to the top, his eyes appeared as a vast panorama of the canyon, and he could sketch in a notebook the plan area. In addition, he accurately determined, from which rocks are distant rocks, based on the color and consistency of their constituent layers. So today, thanks to data obtained by the two rovers, scientists were able to analyze images taken from orbit the Red Planet.

Take, for example, meandering channels are visible on the surface of Mars Withered. They are so similar to channel vast parched rivers, that the assumption of the existence on Mars in some distant era of water seemed justified. However, evidence that was not there. Some scholars have argued that the channels could pave the cold streams of liquid carbon dioxide. Others said that Mars has never been enough of a mild climate and therefore in the liquid state of water could proceed only on a very short time. This is confirmed by the absence of powerful deposits of limestone and other carbonate minerals, which must be left, if Mars had once existed a warm, rich in carbon dioxide atmosphere. But now the rovers Spirit and Opportunity have found direct and conclusive evidence that Mars once was splashing water.

Water on The Moon: More Than You Expected?

The entrance of the ongoing analysis of experimental results LCROSS experts NASA gradually come to the conclusion that his primary goal, in general, been achieved: in the polar regions of our natural satellite, never illuminated by the Sun, found significant amounts of water, which may in future be used to supply long-term manned lunar base.

After a more detailed study of the spectral data the researchers concluded that the collision with the Moon Centaur upper stage led to the emergence of two “waves” of emissions of the substance. The first consisted mainly of water vapor and fine dust (they rose at a relatively high altitude), the second – of the larger debris flying at small angles to the surface. The fact that in the first fraction of water is present, it became obvious after decoding the data received on-board spectrometer LCROSS. Told Tony Colaprete of the Keldysh Research Center. Ames (Anthony Colaprete, NASA Ames Research Center). He also said that the volatile component of the emissions contained several compounds of the formula to be clarified. Thus, another experiment on the “bombardment of the Moon” can be considered quite successful. Ballistics NASA, in turn, note the high accuracy of the “hit» – Centaur crashed into the lunar surface about 200 m from the calculation point.

With regard to water, then its in the study area are many: the site covered by spectrometry, represents only part of the square 20-meter crater formed after the collapse of the upper stage, but registered within it the mass of the evolved water vapor up to 100 kg (with a minimum score) . The assumption that scientists are watching the evaporation of ice, “namerzshego” on the booster during preflight training, was excluded at once – in such quantities on the surface of the block it was significantly absent. The main “witness” confirmed the presence of water molecules, was formed in their decay hydroxyl free radical with its characteristic line radiation in the ultraviolet range.

Deposites of ice in cold regions of the moon, apparently, have not been preserved since its formation from the “wreckage” of collision of proto-Earth with a large body planetopodobnym about 4 billion years ago and formed much later and are replenished so far due to condensation of light molecules contained in the interplanetary medium. If so, these deposits will be a valuable source of information about past solar system – in a similar way to our planet permafrost keeps “memory” of a long-past geological epochs.
